Coaching Philosophy:

In much of high school and college basketball TODAY,  there is a glaring need for fundamentals.  The hallmark or signature attribute of truly outstanding basketball teams is how well they do the little things right -- consistently.  Talent sure helps! But, the great separator is a mastery of fundamentals.  THIS leads to excellence in execution.

Raw talent, by itself, opens the door to the next level quite often.  HOWEVER, with every "next step" in a player's journey, they learn VERY quickly that there are a LOT of great players out there - at every level - from JuCo, to NAIA, to DIII, to DII, to the "coveted" DI.  Regardless of level, there are a LOT of players out there with "more talent".

So, what gives some players and some teams the edge?

The answer is:

* mastering the fundamentals,

*work ethic & toughness (physical AND mental),

* and being coachable.

These ingredients give one a far better chance to be successful at the next level -- than talent alone.  Talent eventually "evens out" in this journey (or players fall behind).
